Mrs. Carrie Poole, Classroom Teacher
Carrie Poole is in her 10th year teaching Kindergarten in Simcoe County. Prior to moving to Barrie, she worked for The District School Board of Niagara. She has spent most of her career with the SCDSB in JK/SK at Hillcrest. Carrie has 3 young children of her own and is passionate about making learning fun and personally meaningful for each child. She brings enthusiasm, creativity and a love of children to the classroom everyday. Carrie believes in celebrating success in learning, no matter how big or small, and is working to help each child reach his or her fullest potential. She feels strongly about maintaining a solid home-school connection and working with parents as everyone learns and grows together. Carrie is super excited about this year's AMAZING group of STUDENTS, our second year in the new Full Day Learning program, the WONDERFUL PARENT SUPPORT and the awesome Kindergarten Team! It's going to be a great year!
Miss Megan Gardiner, Designated Early Childhood Educator
Megan Gardiner is in her second year of working as a DECE in the Full Day Kindergarten program at Hillcrest! Megan loves to watch how excited children become when they grasp a new concept! Megan enjoys getting to know each of the children on an individual level and get to know what their likes/dislikes are. She also enjoys creating new learning opportunities and centres for children. Megan is also a big fan of the website 'Pinterest' and loves to encorporate new ideas she finds into our Kindergarten classroom! Looking forward to another great year in Poole's Garden!
Miss Lesley Fowler, Educational Assistant
Lesley Fowler is in her 15th year of working as an Educational Assistant with the Simcoe County District School Board. This is her 7th year at Hilllcrest Public School! Lesley provides extra support to the students in our classroom!
Miss Veronica Di Cristofaro (Miss D)
Miss D is our teacher candidate (student teacher) from the Faculty of Education at York University. She was with us in our classroom until the end of November. We wish Miss D all the best as she continues in her education!
Mrs. Jessica Adam
Miss Jessica is our Early Childhood Education student from Georgian College. She was with us in our classroom on Mondays and Tuesdays until December. Best of luck as you continue your studies Miss Jessica!
